Forest Bluff School

How To Apply

Are you interested in applying to our school?

We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child! These steps will walk you through the process.

1.

Request a Tour

Initial visits are requested for weekday mornings. This gives prospective families a chance to see the children and teachers in action during the uninterrupted morning work cycle: a hallmark of Montessori education. Your visit will start with a tour of the school, followed by a chance to sit and observe a class at work. You will experience the dynamic and enthusiastic yet peaceful atmosphere of our classrooms at all age levels. You will receive an information packet with descriptions of our programs and tuition information for your child’s age level. Before you leave, you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Please note that these initial visits are for adults only. Please allow for 90 minutes.

For the safety and security of our students and staff, any person wishing to visit Forest Bluff School when school is in session must first complete a Family Information Form. We thank you for your understanding.

2.

Schedule a Visit for Your Child

The next step is to arrange with our admissions director a time for your child to meet with one of our teachers for a brief visit and acquaintance to the school. Parents of children under age three are invited to remain in the classroom with their young child. Visits for the youngest children may last 15 to 20 minutes and for older children, approximately 20 to 30 minutes. For children ages four and older, we request to speak to the child's current teacher. Additionally, we request prior school records for all elementary age children.

3.

Secure Your Child’s Enrollment

If you would like to request enrollment for your child, call our Director of Admissions to discuss your desired date for entry. If we are able to accept your child for the start date you request, you will receive a formal letter of acceptance to Forest Bluff School and a deposit invoice to hold your child’s space. Otherwise, you are welcome to request placement in the waiting pool of applicants until a space becomes available.

"Our daughter is finishing her final year in Upper Elementary (grade 6) where she hones independent research skills and group work. Our daughter experiences the joy of daily learning with thoughtful teachers and multi-age classrooms where older kids model and help teach younger ones. We are excited for her to continue her studies in the Secondary Level (grade 7-8) where her academic studies will be amplified by longer trips that explore teamwork and community service. As a former corporate marketing and sports executive, I see the tremendous life value of Forest Bluff School’s approach in shaping my teenage daughter’s whole life readiness for high school, college, and adulthood as a strong and confident young woman."
